Sheffield Hatters Sign Laura Zolper

The 23-year-old 5’7” guard joins the Hatters as the third new signing for the 2024/25 season

Zolper had played for Herner TC in her native Germany for 14 years, progressing through their junior programme to the senior team.

During the 2023/24 DBBL season, Laura averaged 10.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1 assist per game. 3x3 has also been a large part of Laura’s career, representing Germany in both the under-18 and under-23 categories in FIBA competitions.

Laura is excited to join the Hatters, stating, “I’m very excited to be signing with the Sheffield Hatters. It’s a big change for me, having been with Herner TC for such a long time, but I’m looking forward to a new challenge in a new environment.

“The facilities look very good and I have heard a lot of good things about the city so I can’t wait to get started”.

Sheffield Hatters Head Coach Vanessa Ellis stated “Laura has very good experience in Germany domestically and in the National 3x3 teams she has competed within the younger age groups. She will have learnt a lot in Germany, having developed with her previous club for so long, but now she joins us for a new challenge and I think that will be good for her and benefit her career.

“I’m excited to see her excel in her new surroundings and sure she will settle in well with the team.”
