Sheffield Hatters Sign Emma Gandini
The 30-year-old Australian joins the Sheffield Hatters for the new season. Gandini began her career in the NBL1 with the Willetton Tigers, and stayed there for 11 years, before moving on to the Perth Lynx in the WNBL from 2021 to 2023.
Emma then played for the North Gold Coast Seahawks in NBL1 in 2023, before last season playing for the Rockingham Flames, also of NBL1. Last season with the Flames, Emma averaged 13.4 points per game, 5.8 rebounds and 3 assists per game.
Emma is excited to join the Hatters, stating, “I’m really excited to sign with the Sheffield Hatters this season. I have so far played my whole career in my native Australia, so I’m looking forward to the new challenge of playing in the UK. I’ve heard really good things about the team and the UK game, so I can’t wait to get started in this new stage of my career”.
Sheffield Hatters Head Coach Vanessa Ellis stated “Emma is a great professional who I am very happy to have signed for this season. She will bring some good experience to the roster whilst also playing at a good level, so I’m excited to see what Emma can do”.
