New Documentary Celebrates Newcastle Eagles’ Groundbreaking Journey On The European Basketball Stage
The Newcastle Eagles are set to be the stars of a new documentary capturing their historic run to the Final Four of the European North Basketball League (ENBL) during the 2024/25 season.
Soaring into History: From Newcastle to a European Final Four chronicles the Eagles’ remarkable journey as the first British men’s team ever to reach the final stage of a major European basketball competition.
The documentary will premiere exclusively on DAZN on July 14, 2025, with a special fan event held at the Vertu Motors Arena in Newcastle on the evening of July 11. Fans will be treated to an exclusive first look, featuring never-before-seen footage captured by Super League Basketball (SLB) cameras that followed the team’s trailblazing campaign all the way to Bratislava, Slovakia.
Filmed and produced by SLB, and edited by JLR Videography, the film offers all-access behind-the-scenes coverage and in-depth interviews with players, coaches, club management and fans. It tells a compelling story of ambition, teamwork, and resilience — showcasing how the Eagles defied expectations to rewrite British basketball history.
