Flyers complete 2024/25 roster with addition of Ebuka Ekwegh
Bristol Flyers have completed their 2024/25 roster with the addition of British guard Ebuka Ekwegh from the Essex Rebels
The 25-year-old will rejoin the Flyers for their 20th anniversary season, having previously played for the club’s NBL Division Two side, where he averaged 17.9 points, and 9.9 rebounds per game during the 2022/23 season and was ranked third in the league in efficiency rating.
Ekwegh was also an integral player for the UWE Bristol side that reached the BUCS Men’s Championship Final in 2023, where they narrowly lost to the Loughborough Riders.
Ekwegh averaged 7.0 points and 3.3 rebounds per game last season for the Rebels in NBL Division One and is now ready to take his talents to the next level with the Flyers first team squad.
Speaking on his return to the club, Ekwegh said: "I’m super excited to be coming back to Bristol and to be representing my home team. It’s been a long time coming.
“I’m very thankful and grateful to Coach Kapoulas for the opportunity I’ve been given to elevate my game to the next level and I can’t wait to get started."
Flyers Head Coach Andreas Kapoulas added: “It’s great to see Ebuka back in Bristol and we’re excited to have him in our squad for this coming season.
“He is a player that has come through our Academy pathway, has worked hard to develop his game and now has the opportunity to take the next step in his playing career.
“It’s a pleasure to see so many Bristol players involved in our squad as we celebrate 20 years of Flyers basketball.
