Flyers add Jonathan Brown to 2025/26 roster
Bristol Flyers have completed the signing of British guard Jonathan Brown ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Brown arrives in Bristol from Sligo All-Stars in the Irish Super League, where he averaged 19.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game during his rookie season.
The 6’3” combo guard enjoyed a successful college career in the States, with spells at Fresno Pacific, Central Methodist, Montana and The University of the Cumberlands, where he led the Patriots to a 24-4 record during the 2023/24 campaign and became the first player since 2009 to be named a NAIA First-Team All-American.
During his junior career in the UK, Brown had a breakout season at Canterbury High School in the EABL, earning Eastern Conference Player of the Year honours after leading his side to the Final Fours.
Speaking on his decision to join the Flyers, Brown said: “It’s great to be able to play back home and join such a well-rounded organisation that has a great history.
"I used to watch the Flyers when I was young, just before I got to the EABL, so it's quite exciting to be a part of something like this.
"Coach Kapoulas expects me to come in and be someone that can be the focal point of the defence. I take pride in my defence - that’s definitely something I can do.
"On the offensive end, he wants me to be a creative, scoring guard and facilitator for the team.
“The ultimate goal is for us to win a championship. That’s something that the club hasn't been able to do before and I feel like I’m someone that can definitely help in bringing that to Bristol.”
Flyers Head Coach Andreas Kapoulas said: "We’re excited to welcome Jonathan to the Flyers family. He’s a dynamic talent who brings energy, athleticism, and a real competitive edge to our roster.
"Jonathan has a great attitude and fits the culture we have here in Bristol. We believe he’ll make an immediate impact on both ends of the floor.
"We are looking forward to working with him and helping him take the next step in his career.”
Brown joins Owen McCormack as the second member of Coach Kapoulas’ 2025/26 roster.
