Flyers add Jared Sherfield to 2024/25 roster
Bristol Flyers are excited to announce the signing of American guard Jared Sherfield from Slovakian side BKM Lucenec on a one-year deal.
The two-time All-Peach Belt Conference (PBC) selection makes the move to Bristol for his second season as a pro, after averaging 14.2 points, and 4.6 rebounds per game on 47% shooting from the field during his rookie season in the Slovakian top flight.
On joining the Flyers, Sherfield said: ”I’m really blessed for the opportunity. I did my research when I first heard that the Flyers were interested in me and it was a no-brainer for me.
"This is a big step up in my career coming from Slovakia, Coach told me that the Flyers were going to run it back in the ENBL this season and that’s something I really wanted to be a part of.
"I’m a very versatile player, I can play the one through four and I like to play really fast - thats been my game my entire career. I like to play at both ends of the floor and I feel my game is really suited to the style that Coach wants us to play.
"I can’t wait to get down to the Bristol, get to work and hopefully win a championship for the organisation.”
Sherfield began his college career at Tennessee Tech University, where he spent two seasons before transferring to Lander University.
He averaged over 11 points per game over the following three years with the Bearcats, while adding 2.7 assists per game, 5.7 rebounds per game with a 48% shooting percentage from the field.
Flyers Head Coach Andreas Kapoulas said: “Jared is an athletic, versatile wing that will make an impact on both ends of the floor with his length and skill.
“He already has a year of experience under his belt from playing in Europe, which will certainly help our new-look roster.
“His College Coach at Lander spoke very highly of him. He was an ambassador for the programme and a terrific teammate, so it’s great to welcome a player of such character and attitude in our club.
“Jared is excited to join our programme here in Bristol and we look forward to working with him this season.”
