Bristol Flyers sign Joe Anderson out of Lipscomb University
The 24-year-old has signed his first professional contract with the Flyers and joins the club on a one-year-deal.
Anderson joins the Flyers following one of Lipscomb's most successful Division I seasons, which included the program's second NCAA tournament appearance, its fourth ASUN regular season championship and a third straight 20-plus win season — a milestone achieved only once before in the Division I era.
He averaged 12.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game last season, including six 20+ point performances on his way to third-team All-ASUN and All-Academic team honours and went on to be named the 2025 ASUN Tournament MVP.
Anderson also finished second in the ASUN and 27th in the nation last season with 2.1 steals per game.
Speaking on the opportunity ahead, Anderson said: “It's such a blessing, it's been something I've been praying for since I was a little kid.
“You always dream of something like this and to get that call from Coach with an official offer was amazing.
"Coach Kapoulas told me about his story, having been with the Flyers from the beginning and how last year we were really close to accomplishing a lot of things and I’m very honoured and blessed to be a part of such a great programme.
"Obviously the main thing we discussed was winning games. And he thinks I can come in and have an immediate impact on winning. But he said he liked the way I not only share the ball, but I can score the ball too. I think I have a good knack at knowing who needs the ball during the game and letting the ball find energy.
"I just really like to win. So that's something I'm really excited to bring to Bristol."
Flyers Head Coach Andreas Kapoulas said: “We’re excited to bring Joe on board. He’s an efficient high-IQ point guard who plays with great pace, composure, and leadership.
"Coming out of a strong programme at Lipscomb, Joe has shown he can run a team, make plays under pressure, and compete on both ends of the floor.
"He was teammates with Owen McCormack during his junior year at Lipscomb, so that familiarity will certainly help him adjust to our situation.
"We’re excited about what Joe brings to our roster and we look forward to working with him as he begins his professional journey here in Bristol.”
